I have had the great honor to come to know of Joanne as one of her colleagues at the Movado Group, Inc. During this time, I never really got to know the true Joanne until I came back from being out on 6 months of disability after being disagnosed with congestive heart failure(CHF). Once I returned back to work, it was as though we were 2 different people; being that we are 2 working mothers with 2 children to support & take care of. We both were working towards regaining our health & we used work as a tool to help us cope/deal with our illness. During the one month period since coming back to work, I really got to know Joanne better because we started sharing our experiences regarding our illness & how we coped/dealt with coming back to work. We both seemed more caring about others around us because we understood the meaning of life & how short it can be.
This past week has been a difficult one for me because it has brought to the surface my own immortality & it has really scared me. Having congestive heart failure with arrythmia means that I can go into cardiac arrest at any time & this is something which I must deal with on a daily basis going forward.
In closing, I just want to thank Joanne for all of the experiences & talks that we shared over this 1 1/2 year period that I have been with the company. I pray that you are now in a better place feeling no more pain. Remember Sweetie, you will always been in both my heart & mind & that I will always cherish our memories forever!
I miss & love you Joanne,
