Dearest Susan, JP, and Lauren,
What a tragic loss!
I am so so sad for you and all my cousins at the loss of beloved John. His joyous nature, sense of humor and laugh was so profound. I remember him so well from his Dad's (my first cousin Jackie) birthday party at Maureen and Michael's!
You are all in my thoughts and prayers! God Bless him and you!
With lots of love,
Cousin Grace (from California)

My sincere condolences to Susan and the Carroll family. My best memory of John will always be his great sense of humor. Through the years at Roche and later during my retirement we laughed together so many times. John was not just my best friend. He was the nicest person I ever met. I will miss him.

I had the pleasure of working with John when I first started working at Roche. I will never forget how he welcomed me to the group and how he immediately made me feel at ease and went out of his way to help. He was genuine, outgoing and had a great sense of humor. An easy person to like. I will fondly remember our times at the office, the bowling league, tennis club or Star Tavern. His tragic loss will be felt by all. My most sincere condolences go out to his family and friends.

There are not words that would give comfort in times of sorrow. I pray that God gives to the Carroll family peace, acceptance during this time. I didn't know John, but I know Mr. William Carroll from UBS. He is a wonderful, kind and leader; my thoughts go to him and his whole family.

I’ve known and worked with John for many years, and considered him a great friend. He was also my boss at Roche for a few years, and I will say with certainty he was the best manager I ever had. I will truly miss him, as he was the most genuine, caring and respectable man of integrity I’ve known. John was very approachable and had a way of making everyone feel at ease around him, no matter what level in the company they might be. As he advanced at Roche, he treated everyone equally with the same respect, kindness and friendship. John was one of a kind, and he will be missed by so many people whose lives he touched.

John was such a wonderful person and always had a friendly smile for everyone. I always remember him bringing John and Lauren to work on "take your kids to work day". We played tennis and continued our friendship after I retired from Roche. We tried to get together for dinner every 3 months or so with Michele Lupo and Susan if she could make it. It is so tragic and sad.
My heartfelt sympathies to John, Lauren, Susan and family. John will be very much missed by many, but never forgotten. Hold on tight to all the wonderful memories. May he rest in peace.

My memory of John was one of a kind and intelligent man who was always ready to laugh. I was always surprised by his participation in hockey because I couldn't wrap my head around this nice guy slamming someone up against the boards. This is a great loss. I wish family and friends my most sincere condolences.
