John Ganci Obituary
John, 86, of Ridgewood, formerly of the Bronx, NY and Lodi, NJ passed away Thursday, July 31st. Beloved husband of Phyllis (nee Emanuel). Loving father of John Ganci and wife Jennifer. Cherished brother of Alice Ruffini and husband Bob; he his predeceased by eight siblings. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in the Bronx, NY, John served in the United States Navy. He worked for many years for Matheson Chemicals in Rutherford. A parishioner of the Church of the Annunciation in Paramus, John was also a member of the American Legion in Fair Lawn. A well-loved and generous man, John was kind hearted and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Mass Saturday, 10 AM at Church of the Annunciation in Paramus, followed by entombment at Garden of Memories in Washington Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's memory to the American Legion, 17-08 River Road, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410. Information and condolences available at

John was a tough old guy with a grouchy demeanor. I moved hear a year ago and his first words to us were welcome to the neighborhood, you're not loud are you. I came to realize his tough exterior hid a truly soft and loving man. He and his wife, Phyllis would always give my children gifts on the holidays. I will miss my neighbor and friend John.
