John Van Lenten

North Haledon - VAN LENTEN, John 92, of North Haledon. Absent from his body and at home with his Lord on January 30, 2021. Raised in Lodi and formerly of Hasbrouck Heights, he had lived in North Haledon for the past 4 years. Prior to his retirement, he was a foreman and carpenter with Lakeview Construction in Pompton Lakes. John proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard during the Korean War. John loved his Lord and Savior and served Him at the Midland Park Christian Reformed Church where he had served as an Elder and on their building and prayer committees.

Predeceased by his loving wife, Gertrude (nee Heerspink) (2012), of 50 years. Survived by his four children; Thomas and wife Christine, Mark and wife Karen, Lynda Renick and John and wife Tauji. Devoted grandfather to Michelle, Sara, Daniel, Jenna, Heather, Jonathan, Rachel, Keri, Eric, Carson and Jaslyn and great-grandfather to Carrie Mae. John is also survived by his brother Robert Van Lenten and wife Polly, Floyd Heerspink and wife Phyllis, and brother-in-law Frank Brummell

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Private interment.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be graciously accepted in John's memory to benefit his Granddaughter and husband's campus ministry (Yale Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship).
