Joseph Jacob Kuryllo

Joseph Jacob Kuryllo of Verona, formerly of Cedar Grove, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Sept. 25, surrounded by his loving family. He was 89.

Born in Little Falls, he lived most of his life in Cedar Grove before moving to Verona two years ago.

Prior to his retirement in 1975, he worked many years as an electrician for Electrons Inc. of Fairfield.

He was a founding member of the Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad and a proud umpire of Cedar Grove Little League.

He was predeceased by his son Joseph Kuryllo. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Theresa Kuryllo (née Oram); his daughter, Helen Kuryllo and her husband Michael Petillo; his grandchildren, Joseph Ryan Kuryllo and his wife Kyla, Jamie Kuryllo, and Christina and Michael Petillo; and his sister Mildred Sosonka.

A funeral service was held at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, followed by a burial service at St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church in Little Falls. The interment took place at Laurel Grove Memorial Park in Totowa.
