Joseph Staudinger Obituary

WEST MILFORD — Services were held for Joseph Staudinger, 87, of Green Pond, who died on Monday, August 24, 2015. He was the father of Joanne Fantry of this township.

Mr. Staudinger lived in Lodi, Dearborn, Mich., and Elmwood Park before moving to Green Pond. Also, he wintered in Melbourne Beach, Fla. He worked for the Federal Paper Board before retiring. Additionally, he was a member of the Elmwood Park Board of Education and the Green Pond Corporation Board of Directors. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. And, he was a member of the Elmwood Park and Muhlenberg College Athletic Halls of Fame.

Services were Saturday at the Green Pond Chapel, Newfoundland. Arrangements were by the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, Newfoundland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Green Pond Environmental Foundation, P.O. Box 648, Newfoundland, NJ 07435; or to the Green Pond First Aid Squad, P.O. Box 251, Newfoundland, NJ 07435.

Mr. Staudinger also is survived by his wife, the former Karen Wiarda; his other children, Linda Kay of Tabernacle, Nancy Sliker of Hamilton, Kenneth Staudinger of North Canton, Ohio, and Kristen Silvestri of Newfoundland; his grandchildren, Lindsay Kay Solensky, Thomas and Christopher Kay, Michael and Rebecca Fantry, Jessica, Jaime, and Timothy Sliker, KellyAnn Staudinger Butterworth, Kenneth and Matthew Staudinger, and Steven, Sarah, and Kyle Silvestri; his great-grandchildren, Ava, Mia, Andrew, Olivia, McKenna, Shane, and Madelyn; and an expected great-grandchild.
