Demetrakis, Joyce, E. (nee:Celia), age 77, of Englewood, formerly of Fort Lee, NJ, passed surrounded by her loving family on Saturday March 6, 2021. Born in West New York, NJ she was a graduate of Fort Lee Highschool and then obtained a Bachelors Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She began her career as a Social Worker for the Bergen County Welfare Board. Joyce spent thirty years of her career as a property, restaurant and hospitality manager in companies throughout Bergen County. Her last position was the manager of the Waterford Towers a Senior Services Living Community. She was a long-time member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St. John the Theologian (Tenafly).
Beloved wife of 54 years of James Demetrakis. Devoted mother of Arianne Schreer and her husband Arnold, and Alexis Pizzurro and her husband Drew. Cherished grandma of Cecilia, James, William, and Olivia. Dear sister of Joseph Celia and his wife Soodabeh. Adored by her nieces and nephews.
The family will receive their friends on Sunday 2-6pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". I have been your Mom's Dentist/friend for a very long time. I always enjoyed seeing her and talking to her. She was a very special woman!!
