Kristine Gertsen Obituary
Kristine Anne Gertsen, 65, of West Milford, died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains.
Born in Wantaugh, NY, Kristine was one of four children born to Harold and Dagny Gertsen. Raised in Smoke Rise, she was a graduate of Kinnelon High School before pursuing her degree in nursing from Wagner College on Staten Island.
Kristine had a long career as an RN, employed by Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown.
She held a deep love for her family and friends, and for the family cabin in Hartland, Maine, which she had visited since she was a baby.
Kristine is lovingly survived by siblings, Ron Gertsen with Sandra Kearney, Linda Steeves and her husband Tom, and John Gertsen and his wife Regina; her step-son, Erich Mann and his wife Jennifer, and their children Ben and Ryan; as well as her nieces and nephews, Sonja Steeves, Thomas Steeves and his wife Elena and their children Benjamin & Sebastian, Amanda Gertsen, Harold Gertsen, Henry Gertsen, Seth Kearney and Sean Kearney.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, May 12 from 12 pm to 2 pm at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral service will conclude the visitation at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Kristine's memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be greatly appreciated by her family.

Just heard that Kris passed away. I am so sorry for the family's loss. Kris and I worked together at Morristown Memorial Hospital for years. I remember to be an excellent RN and a kind fun person. May she RIP
