Lucretia A. Hamilton

HAMILTON Lucretia A., 58, of Sparta passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends in her home on Sunday, March 30, 2008, after a long illness. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of Concetta Gati and the late Victor Gati. After graduating from Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest in 1967, she attended Katherine Gibbs secretarial school before pursuing a career with Warner Brothers in Los Angeles. In 1971, she returned home to NJ where she met her future husband, Tom. She is survived by her mother, Concetta, of Sparta; her husband of 34 years, Thomas Hamilton; sons John of Hoboken, NJ, and Victor along with his wife, Erin, of Fairfield, CT; sister Theresa Iaccheri and her husband, Don, of Brewster, Mass.; brothers Peter Gati of Woodridge, NJ and Frank Gati and his wife, Donna, of Ringwood, NJ. Additionally, she is survived by four godchildren, Christopher Gati and Jennifer, Denise and Michael Radeloff, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hamilton was a Sparta resident for the past 25 years. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2008, at 10:30 AM, at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 294 Sparta Ave., Sparta. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Sparta 07871. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society. The Hamilton family extends its thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice, especially Ellen Carlson and Trudy Adding, who helped to ensure a peaceful passing.
