Margaret Elizabeth "Midge" Marcopul

Margaret Marcopul Obituary

MARCOPUL Margaret "Midge" Elizabeth (nee Viall) passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2008 after a difficult battle with cancer. Daughter of the late Otis D. and late Margaret Cowie Viall, Maggie was born on September 16, 1944 in Bergenfield, NJ, attended Bergenfield High School and was a member of the 1961 All-State Chorus. A resident of Bucks County, PA since 1972, her loss is felt by her husband of 40 years Dino Marcopul; three children: David A. Marcopul, James A. Marcopul and Mary Heather Pandya; three grandchildren: Nicholas, Jenna and Eleanor and her brother, J. Thomas Viall. Midge possessed a wide vocabulary, a sharp wit and a flamboyant personality. To be in her company was to be assured of great conversation and genuine laughter. She loved to read, talk politics, tell jokes, make crafts, crochet quilts and sing in the choir at church. Her faith was dear to her throughout her life. An Elder at the Bensalem Presbyterian Church, Midge found happiness in the work she and her fellow parishioners accomplished in the name of the Lord. She believed strongly that her work in the community was one of the things that God called her to do. As her favorite hymn states, Maggie simply wanted, "to seek justice, and love kindness and walk humbly with God." Midge's greatest joys were her family, her church and her work. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bensalem Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund would be appreciated. Family and friends are invited to attend her viewings Sunday May 4th from 5:30-8:30 PM at the Molden Funeral Chapel Inc. 133 Otter St. Bristol, PA, and Monday May 5th from 9:30-10:30 AM at Bensalem Presbyterian Church 2826 Bristol Rd. Bensalem, PA 19020. A service will immediately follow at 10:30 AM with interment in St. James Churchyard. www. moldenfuneralchapel.com

She had a great personality. I was in a young adult group with her at old north church in Dumont. So sad to hear of her passing. My condolences to her family.

Dino & family,
So much to say...so little space. I met Margaret in the mid 60's at Bowling Corp of America. She was the vocalist at my wedding & even caught the bouquet (I guess that was a good omen). Somehow we lost touch but I could never forget her. She was so talented in so many ways. May the many memories you shared comfort you at this difficult time. With deepest sympathy to you and your family.

My deepest sympathy in your loss. It was my great privilege to serve with Margaret on the Pennsylvania Certification Board. Her passion, wisdom, humor were cherished by us all. She has left a great void in this world, but her legacy is in the thousands of lives touched through her drug prevention and education work, and in the lives of we who loved her.

How sad it is to know that this caring, giving, loving person has left us. My memories of her are so fond. She gave so much of herself to her family and community and I will always remember her for that. I know her physical presence will be sorely missed by those who held her dear but the beautiful memories will be a comfort and a reminder that her life was one well spent.

Dear Dino, David, Mary and James
It was such a wonderful time Dale and I shared with all of you and your families at the 40th anniversary celebration for Maggie and Dino. Then their visit to Blowing Rock, NC to visit us in October was a time we will always cherish. Had hoped we would have many more occasions to get to know them both better. Dino, David, Mary, David, and all your families, our thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through this most difficult time. She was a very special lady.
