Marie was a dedicated Grandma who did so much for our kids (Patrick, Kevin, Shannon and Colleen). She made it much easier for two busy parents to cope with such a busy household. Having raised four children herself she brought a lot of practical experience to the table!
There were so many wonderful get togethers at her home whether it be for a major holiday or a summer afternoon at the pool. She liked everything to be perfect and invested a lot of personal effort and time to achieve that goal.
Many , many summers she hosted us down at the Jersey shore, a tradition we continue today. It has provided so many wonderful memories over so many years.
Part of Marie's strength came from her deeply religious beliefs and her study of the Bible.
Her love and spirit will truly be missed. May we all gather together as a family someday to share stories with our dear departed.

A sister is a wonderful gift, and I have enjoyed the gift of our Marie for many happy years. I'm thankful for the years and the certainty that she is at peace.

Aunt Marie will be remembered as wonderful sister, aunt, mother and grandmother. She certainly knew how to host a great party too! I will always treasure my childhood memories of the Kress family gatherings.
I am holding my cousins and their families as well as the Kress siblings in my thoughts and prayers during this sad time.
May God grant Marie the peace she so deserves.
With love, Niece Janet

Hi my neighbors from Clover lane. My brother Mark down in Jacksonville was checking out the Bergen Record and saw that your mom passed and let me , Marie, Ellen and Anne know. Wanted to tell you how truly sorry it was to get this news as I have such great memories of her. Having left USR after college I really only saw her a handful of times since then, so the picture in my mind of her is her youthful face from the '70's driving that huge yellow and brown Suburban taking us to Interstate to go bowling or see a movie. I smile when I think about coming into your kitchen on a hot summer day and mixing up a pitcher of liptons ice tea with Brian then going for a dip in the pool with Laddie barking his head off at us.
I know for certain your mom's in a better place and is catching up on things with your dad and my parents.
My email is [email protected]
Love to all.
