Marie DURANTE Obituary
Marie (nee Schulz), 83, of Dumont, passed away May 9, 2014 at Englewood Hospital & Medical Center.
She will be sadly missed by her devoted son, Peter Durante and his wife Mary Jane. A great joy in Marie's life were her cherished grandchildren; Alyssa Merritt and her husband Stephen, Julianne Durante and her husband Joseph Boyle, and her great-grandson, Jameson Merritt. Marie is also survived by a brother, Richard and a sister Lydia. She is predeceased in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Albert (2011).
Marie was born in New York City to the late Charles and Selma Schulz and worked as an accountant's assistant for Klein, Weiser, Kostrin, New York City. She was a big fan of Atlantic City, a member of the Dumont Senior Citizens and the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, she loved reading and was passionate about history, especially the Civil War Era.
The family will welcome friends Tuesday 5-9 PM, with the Rev. Peggy Hayes officiating a service at 8 PM, at the Frech Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont. Cremation Private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dumont Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
