Mark MUSKIVITCH Obituary

MUSKIVITCH
Mark David, 59, of Hewitt on Thursday, February 27, 2014. Born in Hackensack, the son of Jacqueline (Demeter) and the late John Muskivitch (1993), he grew up in Maywood and was a longtime resident of Hewitt. Working for many years as an automobile mechanic in Paramus, Mark developed a solid reputation with his customers for his many skills to diagnose problems and repair just about anything mechanical. He was also a skilled craftsman in woodworking. Most people knew him as "Uncle Mark". It is and was widely known that Uncle Mark was extremely generous with his time helping others, especially if it had to do with kids, cars or fixing anything mechanical. He had a soft heart for kids and was a local stand-in for Santa for many years leaving a pair of Santa's eyeglasses for kids to find as added proof that Santa had visited their house. One of his passions was making toys for children of friends and neighbors. For many years he has had a group of large stuffed animals in his front window for local kids to see and enjoy while they were waiting for the school bus. Survived by his mother, Jacqueline; of Maywood, a brother, Dr. John C. Muskivitch of Cupertino, CA, two nephews, Justin and Nicholas, and one niece, Alexandra. Funeral Service 11 AM Friday at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford with interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. Friends may call Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Upper Greenwood Lake Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box S, Hewitt, NJ 07421 or Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) richardsfuneralhome.com.
