Marvin Prince Obituary
Marvin, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, died at home on June 1 after a lengthy illness. He was 85. His livelihood was derived from the family business, Prince-Fairview Embroidery, but the sheer range of his focus and interests was extraordinary: A passionate scholar of political theory and Judaism, a classicist, a gourmand, a lover of classical music-his curiosity was unquenchable and lasted throughout his entire life. Prince received an MA in political science from the New School and was devoted to his alma mater, Ohio State University. He was a generous supporter of numerous charities.
His beloved spouse and soulmate, Rayma Kale Prince, died in 2008, and although her loss was a permanent tragedy, that-and steadily declining health-failed to crush his spirit or extinguish his sense of humor. He derived endless comfort from his devoted family and they were an endless source of comfort to him.
Marvin Prince is survived by his daughter, Lily Prince of New York, son James Prince of Maryland, his grandchildren Zachary, Kayla, Brooke, Leah and Stella, and a devoted caregiver, Olga. His passing leaves a huge gap.
