Thinking of you all the time .Always in my heart .We miss you here so much .So funny I was walking and thinking about the talk we had before you left for your tour .I remember being at work and looking up and there you were coming for some advice .I sat and we talked for quite awhile and I hope that I helped you ..but what is crazy? The next day a picture of you and Andrea was posted on fb and you were wearing the exact same shirt as when I saw you .Random? Coincidence ? I think not ..It's you letting me know you are here .I love you MF ...stay over us

My name is Lcpl Lavery I am a marine serving at CLB-25 T.S. co. In providence RI I never had the chance to meet Sgt. Fenton and from what I've read he is a top notch marine and I've hear his name brought up in conversation during drills from some of the older guys at the unit. I recently found a memorial DVD and a sign made of wood that says reserved for AJ in a pack I was issued while conducting a field OP at ft devens and would like to return it to the rightful owner. It obviously held meaning if it was carried. If you have any information please contact me at 401-545-7900 thank you.

10 Years. Many things have happened for all of us,but we still think of you. We were at a gathering for Cinco de Mayo when we got the news of your passing. We still get together every year and everyone joins in on a toast to you for all you gave up for us. We have always poured you a drink that is yours alone, and it is an honor for a Marine that served with you to pour it out, that is because no one gets your drink!Thinking of you Thanks for all you did!! Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Fenton Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.

Hi Matt. Happy Halloween. We were all by Aunt Al's tonight doing our Halloween tradition....the kids wrapped each other up like mummies...bobbed for apples (I know if you were here you would have shown them how it's done)....and of course toilet papered the tree. It was fun and we laughed like you would want us to but you are missing and it isn't the same without you. I hope you were watching and that you know how much you are loved and missed. You are thought of constantly. My heart is broken Matthew and will be until we can all be together again.

Matty Fent. It's been 4 long years, man. Every day I think back through the memories we had. Good or bad, they each bring a smile, until that one. I spent most of the day staring out my office, thinking back. "Crazy" is the only word that describes it. I check in, not as much as I should though. It beats me up b/c I know you would be there more. The worst part of it all is not that I lost my brother of 17 years. It's that my kids never knew him. I was blessed to have known you at all, let alone be as tight for so long. I will be tipping a shot of Jameson in honor. See you on the other side.

May 5, 2010

Dear Matty,
Another year gone by so quickly, At every crossroad we think of you ,I dont think I have ever done so many shots of Jameson (lol) We are all doing well some ups and downs with life but we are trying.. The kids miss you terribly and I think they have been to every O.A.R. concert around ,certain songs are still to painful... And Ant is so happy little Zoey Rose will be here soon.I only wish you could have met Rachel she is so good for him Matt ,truly makes him happy ,I love you and miss you and Im always talking to you and Bob i know you watch usand yes I believe i will see you again..xxxxxxxxxxxoxo much love. May 4, 2010

Hi Matt. Four years since I've felt your hug, seen your smile, heard your laugh. It feels like an eternity and like it was yesterday all at the same time. There are so many things I wish you were here to see. The kids have grown so much. Drew is doing well and thinks of you all the time. Tierney is graduating high school and will be off to college next year. She got an awesome tattoo for you. You'd love it. Taryn, Augie, Court and I went down to the Marine Museum last summer to see your brick. It was a fun trip. Aug wears your dog tag a lot. Brandon just turned 12. He's a good kid...very tall...Taylor is in his second year of college...very social...he reminds me so much of you. He's the one who always has a story to tell now. (you taught him well) You would really get a kick out of him. Courtney is a beautiful young lady. She will be graduating next year...you would be so proud of her. She's the only thing that keeps me going. I miss you so much Matthew...I ache for you. There isn't a second that you aren't on my mind. I think of you from the time you were born until the day we had to say good-bye. If I could trade places with you I would do it in a second. Well Matt I will pour a shot for you like always and play some O.A.R, Jack Johnson, Billy Joel and maybe even some Frank Sinatra..I still am amazed at how you suddenly got into him and the "Rat Pack". I love you Matt.....until we're all together again.

Hey Fenton,

I can't believe someone posted that picture from 274 here. I had totally forgotten about it, but now I can remember that day.

You know I've been down to Little Ferry every May since 2006. I'll never forget and will make the trip every year. I will always remember the grief that your parents showed at your wake. It was very sad, but comforting to know that your family cared for you so much - there was no doubt of that.

You wont be forgotten!

October 6, 2009

Oh Matthew how I wish you were here to talk to. I've felt so many different emotions since you've been gone...most I never even knew I could feel. I know you want your friends and family to enjoy their lives, live life for you; but it is very difficult for me to watch life go on around me without you being here. You are always in my heart. I just love and miss you so much.

It's hard to believe that it has been over three years since we last saw you, or talked with you, or heard your obnoxious (or hott, as andrea would say it) laugh. It's hard to imagine that it could be so many more years before we get to see and hear you again. Although I'm not a big believer in the whole Heaven thing, if there is one thing I hope for it's that we get to be with the ones we love once we pass. There hasn't been a day, or even an hour that has gone by where I have not thought about you. My worst fear is that people will forget about you, or that I'll forget all of the little things about you. I sometimes have to listen to your message to remind myself of what you sounded like. I remind myself everyday that you died for what you believed in. Although we all don't agree on the war, I know it's where you wanted to be and you doing what you wanted to do. Our time with you was cut unbelievably short, which is very unfair. But the moments and years that we did have will live on with each of us forever. There are still days when we wake up in a sort of state of shock because it hits us all over again. There is nothing that we wouldn't do to have you back, even for just a day. I love you and miss you more than you think and I will continue to carry you with me in my heart.
Love always,

Hello my beautiful boy. It's been three years since you're gone and I still can't believe it. The only way I make it through each day is to think of you as being away somewhere having fun. If the reality of not being able to see, hear or feel you hit me all of the time I don't think I would be able to survive. Sgt Fenton brother I think of you often when I patrol the streets of NYC as a street crime police officer. We talked about you going back home and becoming a police officer yourself. I knew you for a short time but you left a ever lasting image in my head of yourself. You are a great man, american and marine. I miss you bro. Wish we could of had a beer or two. I salute you. Rest in peace.
