KELLEY Maureen Susan passed away peacefully on December 26th, 2009. Maureen was mom to Captain, Jasper, Tony, Robin and Jack. Born and educated in New York City, Maureen brought a certain devotion to her work in the medical field, helping hundreds in their personal battles. Steadfast, courageous and loving, Maureen led a vibrant life in travel, volunteerism and her special joy in entertaining friends at her home. She joined the Order of the Eastern Star, Laurel Chapter #44, in 1982 and served as Worthy Matron several times. In 1991, Maureen was appointed District Deputy in New York City and was elected Commissioner of Appeals in 1999. As a congregant of the Church on the Hill in Flushing and a devoted member of the Eastern Star, Maureen upheld her commitment to community service. She lit up a room upon entering it and touched many lives. Maureen will be deeply missed by her family of friends and her pets, both at home and astray. Funeral service Thursday, 9AM from the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Rd., Teaneck then to The Church on the Hill, 167-07 35th Ave., Flushing, NY for an 11AM service. Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 at the funeral home.
