KASS Michael Vincent Sr., 57, avid sports fan and practical joker, of Benton, PA and formerly of Allendale, NJ died Oct. 28th at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.Born May 15, 1952 in Amityville, NY, he was the son of Dominick (Kasmauskas Jr.) Kass of Great Neck, NY and Michaelina "Teenie" (Bobal) Kass of Hastings, PA and Brooklyn, NY. Mike and wife Cheri (Ostrowski) celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary on Aug 27th.After graduating with a degree in Forestry from Paul Smiths College in the Adirondacks, he later settled into the truck and automotive industry parts industry for over 20 years in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Besides being an avid sports fan for football, NASCAR, and baseball he was also an athlete at Northern Highlands Regional High School, graduating in 1970. He was a practical joker and enjoyed laughter and spending time with his family.Surviving in addition to his wife are his children Justin Michael (from a previous marriage) attending college in Washington, DC, Michelle Anne at home, and Michael Vincent Jr. attending college in Knoxville, TN, brother Dominick G. Kasmauskas and his wife Janet in Rotterdam, NY; his aunts: Helen Kass in Houston, TX, Anna Ingraham in Brick Twp., NJ, and Kie Kasse in Pines Plains, NY. He was an uncle and great-uncle and had numerous cousins.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older sister Joanne Kasmauskas.Memorial services will be held Friday, Nov. 6, at 11 AM at the Stillwater Christian Church, 42 Wesley St., Stillwater, PA.Arrangements are under the direction of the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc. of Benton, PA.
