Muriel VANDERVLIET Obituary

VANDERVLIET Muriel (Cook), 98, of Clifton died Monday, December 7, 2009. Born and raised in Lake Hopatcong, she resided in Wallington before moving to Clifton 60 years ago. Muriel was employed by the Raybestos Manhattan Rubber Co. in Passaic prior to her retirement. Previously, she was employed as a secretary for the education department of the Presbyterian Board of National Missions in NYC. Muriel is a 75-year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Passaic and a 60-year member of Stella Chapter # 20 O.E.S. in Garfield. She is predeceased by her husband, Irving, by a son, Edward, by a brother, Marvin Cook and by a sister, Arline Cook. Muriel is survived by three daughters, Melissa Wortmann of New Holland, PA., Priscilla Bradford of Clifton and Mary Behan of Bloomfield, by eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchil-dren and one great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be held 10:30AM Thursday at Allwood Funeral Home, 660-670 Allwood Road, Clifton followed by burial at Laurel Grove Memorial Park. Visiting hours are Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Eastern Star service 7:30PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the First Presbyterian Church, 112 Washington Place, Passaic, NJ 07055 will be appreciated.
