Nicholas Caruso Obituary

CARUSO
Nicholas William (Bill), age 80 died on July 6, 2014 after a long illness.
Born in Montclair to William and Sylvia (nee Cavaluzzi) Caruso. He lived in Nutley and Bloomingdale before moving to Hopatcong in 1972.
Bill was a 1951 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair. He was preceded by his wife of 51 years Marie Ann (nee Cina) Caruso in 2008. Serving in the USMC from 1953 to 1956 in the 1st Tank Battalion of 1st Marine Division he served in Korea then at Camp Pendleton until honorably discharged.
When illness struck and in the manner in which he lived his life, never complaining, always being self-sufficient and in true Marine Corps fashion- he dug-in, fought with tenacity and held his position until being relieved by God. "And when I get to heaven St. Peter I will tell….." For those who knew Bill, we are sure he will have words with St. Peter at the gates.
Bill held a number of jobs in the 60's working as an assembler in the Aero-Space industry then moving into the Insurance industry as an auto claim adjustor. He worked for several insurance companies including GEICO, Firemen's Fund and others until his retirement from Reliance in 2004.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and trips to A.C.
He leaves behind his son Robert and wife Cathryn Caruso of Lake Hopatcong, daughter Linda and husband Jack Colavita of Easton PA, five grandchildren. Nicholas, Brielle, William, James and Cory also, brothers Louis of Green Twp and Robert and wife Shirlee of Ho-Ho-Kus.
