Nicholas Melone Obituary

MELONE Nicholas, age 90, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Paterson, passed away on March 13, 2011. He was born in Paterson, NJ to Pasquale and Lisetta Melone. He was a WWII Veteran of the 2nd Marine Division and a Purple Heart Medal recipient, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations. After the war, he was a Drill Instructor at Paris Island and sold insurance and real estate in civilian life. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 103. He was the beloved husband to Carol. He was the treasured father to Elise Carrabba and her husband Frank, Angela Van Horn and her husband Ralph, Nicholas J. Melone and his wife Christine and Michael Melone and his wife Cheri. He was the adored grandfather of Jennifer and Daniel Van Horn, Christopher Carrabba, Lauren Martino, Sean, Sarah, and Owen Melone and great-grandfather of Isabel, Emma, and Alyssa. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday from 12-2 PM at Santangelo Funeral Home, 635 McBride Avenue, Woodland Park, NJ. A service will be held during visitation at 1 PM. Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
