Peter Drago Obituary

DRAGO Peter, age 89, passed peacefully at his home in Bergenfield, NJ, on Saturday, June 11. Beloved husband of the late Mary. Devoted father of Enza Rossi and her husband, Peter, of Franklin Lakes. Adoring grandfather of James Rossi. He is also survived by his brother, Charles Drago, his sister, Mary Rizzo and many loving nieces and nephews. Peter served as a technical sergeant in the 771st Ordinance Light Maintenance Company in the European Theater during WWII. He commanded a squad, responsible for the field maintenance of all of the Division's artillery. Peter was an expert cabinetmaker for the Steinway Piano Company for over 30 years. As a master craftsman, he was responsible for the finishing and fine detailing of grand pianos, often chosen by royalty, concert pianists and even a U.S. president. He was a past member of the VFW, the Knights of Columbus, St. John's Senior Club and AARP. Peter was a lively, engaging jokester who will always be remembered by his friends and family. All will gather at Riewerts Memorial Home, 187 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield, on Wednesday at 9 AM for the Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Bergenfield at 10 AM.
