Philip Weissman Obituary

WEISSMAN Philip, age 95, of Bradbury, CA, formerly of Elmwood Park, NJ, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2011. Beloved husband of the late Beatrice Weissman and former husband of Jane Weissman, devoted father of Dr. Ronald S. Weissman of Phoenix, AZ, Dr. Glenn H. Weissman of Bradbury, CA, Dr. Mark A. Weissman and his wife Lynn of Grand Island, NY, Dr. Robert J. Weissman and his wife Dorine of South Pasadena, CA and David M. Weissman, Esq of South Pasadena, FL, cherished grandfather of Benjamin, Taylor and Lindsey Weissman of Bradbury, CA, Brandon, Brianna, and Andrew Weissman of Grand Island, NY, and Liam, Alec and Sydney Weissman of South Pasadena, CA. Dear brother of Geraldine Lazar of Tarzana, CA, Roz Dennis of Baltimore, MD, Joel Weissman and his wife Sonja of Jamaica, NY, the late Martin Weissman, the late Sidney Weissman, and the late Elizabeth Hillman. Mr. Weissman is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Prior to his retirement he was the owner of Record City located on Broadway in Paterson, NJ. Mr. Weissman was a veteran of WWII and was a former member of the Elmwood Park Jewish Center. Services will be 10 AM, Friday, Janauary 21, 2011 at Louis Suburban Chapel, 13-01 Broadway (Route 4 west), Fair Lawn, NJ, burial will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America, 1811 R Street NW, Washington, DC 20009, Phone: 202-265-6280.

A Kind and Loving Man with an amazing heart. Phil you will always live in my heart. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away". My deepest condolences to the family. He live a long and happy Life.....

I remember standing on his feet and dancing with Uncle Phil, when I was quite small. At the many parties we went to when all lived in Elmwood Park.
