Ralph Maresca Obituary
Ralph Anthony, age 72, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015. Cherished life-long partner of Filomena Mazzone. Beloved son of Frances and the late Joseph Maresca. Devoted father of David, Julie and Laurel Maresca. Loving grandfather of Lily, Leo, Max and Jasper. Dear brother of Charles Maresca. Ralph was born in Manhattan and lived in The Bronx near Yankee Stadium. He then moved to Palisades Park. He was a Cliffside Park High School teacher for fifty years. He was known for his kindness, enthusiasm, love of his students and love of life.
At Ralph's request, his services have been arranged for his immediate family. Memorial donations can be made in his name to: American Heart Association, Founder Affiliate, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7705 or at donatenow.heart.org.

I'm writing this so many years after his passing because I was just thinking about this legendary man...
Mr. Maresca was by far my favorite teacher ever! I'll always remember him fondly, he's one of the teachers I made sure to visit after I graduated high school, always full of valuable advice and life lessons, a true sage. He made learning fun and exciting, more than 15 years after graduation I still remember his lessons and lectures, I honestly true feel sorry for the people that didn't get to learn from or know this wonderful man. I will always remember his pink suit and white shoes, only he could pull that off and make it look awesome! I hope to be an inspiration and guiding light to people like this man was, I wish his family the best.

Mr. Maresca, it was a great honor & privilege of being one of your students for Business Law (CPHS Class of 06'). You were a wonderful teacher, a kind-hearted man and a positive influence not just in the classroom, but all walks of life. "It's an Automatic" was your phrase after every test and class, and I know it's an automatic that you're smiling from heaven, RIP. I'll never forget you.

Ralph was a good soul. A close boyhood friend of my loved cousin, he always made me feel welcome when I tagged along. What I remember most was his infectious laugh and his lighthearted curiosity. I pray for his family and am grateful for times I was fortunate to share with him. Rest in peace.

What an amazing man! He had such enthusiasm. Just an encounter with him and you were happy. He also made me see the joy in everyday experiences. I ran into him years after HS and he had the same effect. I thought about his wonderful personality for days after that. God bless him! I hope he knew of the positivity he spread.

So sorry to read about Mr. Maresca, by far one of the best teachers I had at CPHS. He was kind, respectful and taught his students how to critically think. My sincere condolances to his loved ones! He certainly lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Mr. Maresca, you were our daughter, Stephanie Carfagno's, and son, Jerry Carfagno's, teachers....they graduated CPHS in 1999 and 1994...what a great personality you had, and you were an excellent teacher...R.I.P....you passed away too young :(

My thoughts and prayers extended to Mr. Maresca's family. I was so fortunate to have Ralph Maresca as a teacher at CPHS. He treated every student with respect and his warm smile. He challenged you to think in unconventional ways and helped you create skills to take with you on your life's journey. He was much more than a good teacher. He enlightened you everyday in the classroom. He was a very gifted man who found his calling in life and enjoyed every minute that he taught. May he rest in eternal peace, never forgotten.
