Raymond Helton Obituary
Raymond P. "Corkey," passed away peacefully on Monday, May 9, 2016. He was 87. Born in Gainesville, GA, he was a resident of Midland Park for over 50 years. Before retiring, he was a carpenter for the Hackensack Local #15. Raymond enjoyed traveling with his loving companion, Lois Cloonan, and was an avid baseball fan and loved the Atlanta Braves. He is predeceased by his dear wife, Muriel Helton, a daughter Robbie Lee Ambrose and a son James Andrew Helton. Ray will be dearly missed by his daughter Sharon A. Shepherd, her husband Bill, longtime companion Lois Cloonan, four grandchildren: Matthew, Theresa, Andrew, Cassidy; five great-grandchildren: Cody, Tyler, Jaden, Aiden, Zayden; two sisters: Acie Chapman, Dorene Wilkerson; three brothers: Y.D. Helton, Anthony Helton and Douglas Helton. Visitation will be held, today, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 4-8 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, (vpfh.com), 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Contributions in Raymond's memory may be made to the Holy Name Medical Center Foundation, 718 Teaneck Rd., Teaneck, NJ 07666.
