Richard Fuge Obituary

FUGE Richard H., 85 of West Milford, NJ and formerly of Bethlehem, PA passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2011 in Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ. He was the husband of the late Frances P. (Smith) Fuge who died Feb. 10, 2010. Born in Sunbury, PA, he was the son of the late Walter R. and Marion (Hartman) Fuge Lawton. Richard served in the Army during WWII. He worked as an engineer for Dixie Cup and American Can Company. He was a member of the NAMI Lehigh Valley Chapter and the PA Jazz Society. Survivors: sons, Richard W. Fuge of West Milford, NJ and Stephen E. Fuge of North Wales, PA. Brother Francis Fuge of Louisville, KY. Granddaughter Carolyn Catenacci of Oakland, NJ. Services: a viewing will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 11 AM-12 PM followed by a 12 PM service at Downing Funeral Home, Inc. 1002 W. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Interment with Military Honors in Nisky Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Richard's name to NAMI Pennsylvania Lehigh Valley Chapter 802 W. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018.

I am sorry to leave this message so late. I was one of Dick's neighbors in Bethlehem and I am sorry I did not know of his passing as I would have liked to have paid my respects to his family. He was a very fine person and we miss him in the neighborhood.

I knew Dick as a soft spoken man, thru NAMI, enjoyed working with him, he helped us with our troubles with mental illness in our family.
