Richard Mahler Obituary

Richard F. Mahler, 62, of Belleville passed away at Clara Maas Medical Center in Belleville on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011.

He was born in Jersey City and was a lifelong resident of Belleville. He was a partner with Country Club Transportation of Newark for 35 years. He was also past commodore and instructor at Liberty Harbor Power Squadron. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Seaton Hall University and was active with the alumni association. He was also a member of Pershing Rifles and Pirate Blue. He was an avid sailor.

He was predeceased by his parents, Edward J. and Madlyn (nee McGranahan) Mahler; his sister Madonna Saake and brother Eugene Mahler. He is survived by his sister, Mary Parasugo and her husband Paul; brothers, Michael Mahler and his wife Maryellen, Matthew Mahler and his wife Betty Anne, and Peter Mahler. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Dennis Saake and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A funeral Mass was to be offered at St. Peter's RC Church on Monday morning, Sept. 12, 2011. Interment was to be in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Guests were to be received at the Irvine—Cozzarelli Memorial Home, P.A., 276 Washington Ave. in Belleville, irvinecozzarelli.comor 973-759-1114, on Sunday, Sept. 11.
