Richard Turnamian Obituary
TURNAMIAN Richard M., 84 years of age, of Englewood, NJ and Naples FLA. passed away on November 9, 2007. Son of the late Michael and Alice Turnamian of Demarest, NJ. Beloved brother to the late Harry Turner of Baltimore, Ann Barry and Hemy Tarzy of Demarest, NJ. Loving Husband of Sonia Tefank for 60 years. Devoted father to Michael Turnamian of Naples, FLA, Ellen Malloy of Oradell and Dr. Jeanne Turnamian of Ramsey. Adoring grandfather to Jaclyn and Tiffany Mallloy and Amie and Jennifer Kechejian.
Richard attended Memorial High School in West New York and was quarterback of the football team. He was a graduate of Admiral Farragut Academy, Stevens Institute of Technology, Class of 1949 where he was a Theta Xi fraternity brother and captain of the lacross team. He volunteered for the US Marine Corp. and served in WWII. He was president and owner of Benson and Church Co. Inc. and co-founder of Air Technology, Inc. 
Richard was one of the founders of St. Thomas Armenian Church, Tenafly where he served on the building committee, was Man of the Year, and parish council chairman. He was a member of the Knights of Vartan and the Mens Club. Richard also worked for the AGBU and helped organize the Armenian Earthquake Relief Program. He served on the Board of Directors of the Terraces Association, Naples Fla., and Air Technology Inc.
He was a sailing and golf enthusiast. Richard will be forever remembered for his generosity and willingness to help everyone.
Funeral from the A.K. Macagna Funeral Home, 495 Anderson Ave, Cliffside Park,NJ on Tuesday November 13, 2007 at 9:30 AM, thence to the Armenian Presbyterian Church, Paramus where a Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM. Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview. The family will receive their friends and loved ones Monday November 12, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Armenian Presbyterian Church 140 Forest Ave. , Paramus NJ 07652
