CUCCI Rita (nee Leo), 71, of Clifton, NJ died surrounded by her loving family on April 23, 2010. Daughter of the late Erminia (nee DeLuca) and Cosimo Leo, she was born on Memorial Day, May 30, 1938 in her parents' home in West New York, NJ. Her sisters recall their father coming to them while watching the Memorial Day Parade to tell them of her birth. Rita attended the West New York public schools, graduating from Memorial High School. She moved to Passaic in 1958 after marrying her husband, the late Agostino Cucci, to whom she was blessed to have celebrated 50 years of marriage. She then moved to Clifton with her family in 1978, where she lived the rest of her life.Rita worked for PSE&G in Jersey City until she had children. She was a housewife and worked as a bookkeeper alongside her husband in his CPA practice for over 30 years. She also worked with developmentally disabled adults at the Clifton Adult Opportunity center in the 90s. She was a devoted caregiver to others. She tirelessly cared for her ailing husband, Augie, for many years before his death in 2009. Her greatest joy was caring for her grandchildren in her home while they were young.Rita will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first. She is survived by her three devoted daughters and their husbands, Dr. Patricia Cucci and Christopher Bosco of Warren, Jacqueline and Steven DeStefano of West Orange, and Andrea and John Mieczkowski of Clifton. She was a loving grandmother to Peter James, Andrew, Julia, John Agostino, and Nicholas. She was the dear sister of Ann Donovan and Connie and Joe Cosentino and the late Yolanda Nasissi and Vincent Leo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be Thursday 9:15 AM from the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton and 10 AM at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, cor. Oak Street and Myrtle Avenue, Passaic. Interment to follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. Visiting Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
