Frank Cucci Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, LLC - Whiting on Jan. 14, 2026.
Frank Cucci, 93, of Whiting, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026. Born in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, on November 1, 1932, Frank spent most of his adult life in Little Falls and Wayne, NJ, before settling in Whiting ten years ago.
Frank was a lifelong lover of music and a professional guitar player. He taught music, played in numerous bands over the years, and regularly performed at larger gatherings and weddings. He recorded several records, of which he was very proud. His love for music even followed him into military service, where he played in a band while serving in Korea in the U.S. Army, IX Corps Artillery Command, tasked with providing long-range fire support to infantry and armored units during the Korean War.
Beyond music, Frank attended Fairleigh Dickinson College. He spent most of his professional career working in business as a purchasing agent. He enjoyed a comfortable retirement and treasured summers with his boat at his condo in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. Frank also loved sports and stayed active through baseball, softball, and tennis.
Frank was married to his wife, Betty Cucci (Greenleaf), for nearly 50 years. Together they raised two children, Frank (61) and Jill (57). Frank and his wife, Maria, have three children-Frank, Anna, and Christina-and four grandchildren: Maddie, Nora, Savros, and Pierce. Jill has one son, Jake.
Frank is reunited in heaven with his parents, Frank and Margarett; his brothers, Adolph and Michael; and his sister, Marie. He is survived by his sister, Jacqueline.
He will forever be held and cherished in the hearts of his loving family and friends, and remembered for his deep love and dedication to his family, his warmth and sense of humor, and his lifelong passion for music. His U.S. Army letter of appreciation, written on October 8, 1954, by Brigadier General Garrison Coverdale, said it best: "Your soldierly appearance, loyalty, dependability, cheerfulness, and willingness to work long hours are especially worthy of note."
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 10am at St. John Catholic Church, 619 Chestnut St, Lakehurst, NJ. Interment to follow to BG William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ. All arrangements have been entrusted into the care of the Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 66 Lacey Road, Whiting, NJ, 08759.
