John P. Molloy, 88, of Whiting, NJ, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. John was born on October 2, 1937 in New York City, NY to his parents John and Winifred (nee: Slamen) Molloy.

John honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Aboard ship, John worked in the boiler room. After his time in the Navy, he enlisted into the Army Reserves. After the military he continued working in a boiler room and worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for the State of New Jersey in Sea Girt, NJ.

John and his wife Renae moved to Whiting, NJ 27 years ago from Bayville, NJ. They were blessed when they moved into a neighborhood where the neighbors became family. John was the star of his wife's drama club, everyone in town knew him. He loved to read, especially suspense and mystery, his favorite author being James Paterson.

He enjoyed playing cards and board games. He enjoyed having fish once and a week and ice cream. He loved to travel, especially when he and Renae went to California to renew their vows after 25 years of marriage. He also enjoyed going to the beach and camping.

John is preceded in death by his parents John and Winifred Molloy, his daughter Dawn Nickerson, and his brothers, Patrick Molloy, Raymond Molloy and Danny Molloy.

He will be forever held in the heart of his beloved wife of 48 years, Renae (nee: Moran) Molloy, his children, Danielle Gebhardt, John P. Molloy, Jr and his fiancée Maria and Ron Bjoransen and his wife Jane, his cherished grandchildren, Eddie and his wife Jenny, Christopher and his wife Christina, Patrick and his fiancée Maggie, Olivia, and Katie, his great grandchildren Winefred and Theodore, his sister Joy Morris and her husband Mike, his brother in law Bill and his wife Annie and their family, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 66 Lacey Road, Manchester Township, New Jersey 08759. A service will take place at the funeral home at 2:30pm. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family by visiting www.carmonabolenfh.com
