HUGHES Mr. Robert L., 73, passed away on October 25, 2007 at Memorial Sloan Kettering, New York City. The funeral will be conducted by the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Monday, October 29 at 10:30 AM.. There will be a funeral service in his memory at Grace Episcopal Church, Nutley on Monday, October 29 at 11:30 AM, with Rev. Pam Bakal officiating. The interment will be at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 28 from 1-5 PM, and on Monday, October 29 from 9-10:30 AM. Mr. Hughes was born in Passaic and resided in Cedar Grove and Lavallette, and was a former resident of Wayne and Nutley. He attended Bucknell University in PA. Mr. Hughes was the owner of R.K. Hughes Insurance Agency, Nutley for more than 50 years, and was an Army veteran during peacetime. He was a member of the Glen Ridge County Club for more than 40 years, a member of Vestry Committee at Grace Episcopal Church, Nutley, and a member of the Cedar Grove Environmental Commission. Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife Patricia Ann (nee Willis) Hughes; his sons Robert L. Hughes, Jr. and his wife Susan, and Glenn Hughes and his wife Dana; and his daughter Allison Peppel and her husband Jim. He is also survived by his sisters Helen Brueckner, and Ann Harlow and her husband Bob, and five grandchildren. Mr. Hughes was predeceased by his wife Ellie Hughes.
