Sarah Benz

BENZ Sarah (Ward), 86 of Upper Montclair died Saturday, September 6, 2008. Born in Clifton, she resided in Upper Montclair for the past 47 years. Sarah was employed as a secretary for the J.F. Henry Chemical Co. in Rutherford for 20 years prior to her retirement in 1992. She is a member of the Chapel on the Hill in Cedar Grove. Sarah had been an advisor for the Young People's Group at Calvary Baptist Church in Clifton for many years. She was recently predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Edward P. Benz, on August 24th. Sarah is survived by a son, Edward P. Benz Jr. and wife, Diane of Paramus, by a daughter, Barbara Callahan and husband, Scott of Clifton, by two grandchildren, Noelle and Mark Benz and by a sister, Sadie Bohm of Oradell. Private funeral services will be held at the family's convenience followed by burial at Mount Hebron Cemetery. Arrangements are by Allwood Funeral Home, Clifton.
