Steven T., 37, of Stockholm, passed away suddenly and returned to the arms of the Lord on March 9, 2017.
The son of Neal and Cathy VanDerWeert, Steven was raised in Midland Park. He married Erin White in 2005 and the couple settled in Stockholm to raise their family. Steven loved hunting and fishing and was proud to have hiked the entire Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia. His love for the outdoors came second only to his love for family, especially his children.
Steven is survived by his wife, Erin; his children, Carley and Colin; his parents, Neal and Cathy; his brother, Neal and his wife Joy; his sister, Erin Patel and her husband Samir; his mother and father in-law, Donna and Thomas White; his brother and sisters in-law, Sean White, Dorraine Mardrus and her husband Al, and Arlene White; his great friend, Thomas Parken; and several nieces and nephews as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held from 4-8 PM Wednesday, March 15 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Thursday at The Freedom Church, Oak Ridge. www.scanlanfuneral.com
