To the Family of Teddy Chapman'

My parents and other family members (Perrens and Williams) both grew up with Teddy and have known him for years. But what compels me to write in this guest book is that Teddy was one of the detectives who caught the murderer of my grandmother (Queen Esther Perren) back when I was about 15 years old. I still had a few years of being a knucklehead left in me, but I was always motivated by the fact that Teddy and the others working that case never gave up. The effect that Teddy's work had on me personally, changed my life. I had a chance to talk with him for the first and only time when I was about 33 or 34 years old. By then I was also a cop and he was retiring the next year. I got to tell him how I felt and it was like being 15 years old all over again. He was gracious and told me that police work was what he loved and he was glad to have helped and inspire me in a positve way. I wanted you to know just how far his reach extended. My deepest condolences and prayers are with you at this time.

Sincerely,

Frederick R. Williams

To Teddy's family,

My husband, Rev. Andres Diaz, the entire Perren family, and I truly mourn Teddy's loss. He was always a great friend to my brother Freddie and me as we all grew up together and he had good times with my husband Andres when he was in Englewood. He holds a special place in our hearts for his role in solving our mother's loss. We are so sorry that we can't be with you tomorrow but know that we are praying for you and thanking God for Teddy's life. God bless Teddy and all of his family.

Florence and Andres Diaz, Freddie Williams and family, Chriss Williams and Family, Esther Perren Davis and family, and Christine Perren and family. Rest in peace.

To Phyllis and Family

There are no words of comfort that would suffice at this time. When I reflect on the times we have spent together, I can only smile and say thanks for your friendship and for allowing us to be a part of your life.

God brought us together through my brother Bill Tweedle who loved Teddy more than life. I have never witness friendship so pure and full of life. These are the kinds of things that will help sustain us during this time of sorrow.

To the Chapman Family:

Words can never express the sadness

that one feels, when a brother leaves our presence and goes to meet our God. Teddy was a beautiful guy in every way, loved and respected by all that knew him as a friend. I enjoyed his friendship and I will forever miss that charming smile. God Bless.

THE CHAIN

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name,

In life, we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone,

for part of us went with you, the day that God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,

and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,

but as God calls us one by one, the Chain will link again.

To The Chapman Family,

I am so sorry for your sadness, and loss, my heart truly goes out to the Family, Friends, Colleagues, and Students to whom Mr. Chapman has truly touched their lives and made a difference. I remebered going to Atlantic City just a few months ago with my Aunt Evelyn, and John, and Mr. Chapman was on the bus and I asked him how Kelly and Jason were doing. It was just yesterday, Shaliece would come home from school and say Mom I spoke to Mr. Chapman today and he said Kelly and Jason were fine and doing well and I was so pleased in hearing that news. May God keep you under his wings, Mr. Chapman, and Soar High with our Heavenly Father.

Rest In Peace.......

Teddy

I know you went away fishing and I was waiting for you to come back because you always keep me fat. I was waiting for you to bring me some fish, but apparently God stepped between us and sent you to a better place that everyone needs to know about and some place that everyone needs to go. I'm going to be there for you. Teddy, you might not see me but your family will. My family sends their deepest condolences. Until we meet again.
