Walter A. Kruegel

Walter A. Kruegel, 82, passed away February 17, 2021. Born in Hackensack to Walter and Sally Kruegel (Small) he resided in Ringwood for the past fifty five years. A Fairleigh Dickinson University graduate, he held a Bachelors of Science and two Master's degrees. Walter was a tax accountant for Union Camp Paper in Wayne and also worked for the State of Michigan as a tax auditor. Walter served his country in the U.S. Army.. He was a 13th generation descendant of the Mayflower and a Son of the American Revolution. Beloved husband of Sybil Kruegel (Fair), loving father of four children, Kurt Kruegel and wife Donna, Walter Kruegel and wife Jennifer, Amy Sneddon and husband Daren, Eric Kruegel and wife Jessica. Brother of Joyce Cannon and grandfather of Victoria, Alexandra, Ryan, Jared, Kathryn, Amanda, Isabelle, and Danny. Walter enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking his boat out on the bay. He truly cherished every moment spent with his family and friends. He especially loved spending time on Long Beach Island with his beloved Sybi, holding hands while walking on the beach collecting sea glass together. A memorial service is being planned at a later date at the Community Presbyterian Church of Ringwood. Memorial donations to the Community Presbyterian Church of Ringwood would be appreciated.
