William Dvoretsky Obituary



DVORETSKY
William B., 80, of St. Augustine, Florida and North Haledon passed away on August 17, 2015.
Born in West Paterson he lived in Franklin Lakes for 38 years before moving to North Haledon 8 years ago. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University. He received his Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering from Stevens Tech and started his career as an engineer at Singer Kearfott where he worked on the production of guidance systems. He retired in 1998 as Vice-President of the John Royle and Sons in Pompton Lakes. A parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Franklin Lakes, William was instrumental in starting the Franklin Lakes Sports Association and the construction of the originalField House at the Recreation Field. He coached Franklin Lakes Junior football and baseball for over 20 years and was an avid golfer in Passaic County.
Beloved husband of Audrey (nee Natale) Dvoretsky of St. Augustine, Florida and North Haledon. Devoted father of Kathleen Gogolen and her husband Gary of Florida, Susan Cieszko and her husband Chris of Hawthorne, William Dvoretsky and his wife Kay of California and Robert Dvoretsky and his wife Melissa of Wyckoff. Loving grandfather of seven and great-grandfather of four. Dear brother of Paul Dvoretsky and his wife Marianne of Maine. William is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive family and friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in William's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a charity of your choice.

My wife, Judy, and I would like to offer our sympathy and condolences on the passing of Bill. I have many memories of Bill while visiting Little Falls with my mom and dad and of Bill entertaining the family at the "Farm" with his accordion.

So sorry to hear of Bill's passing. May your wonderful memories of him be held in your heart forever. We shall miss our dear PV classmate. He always had a smile for everyone and was one of the nicest guys I have known.
