Barbara Fey Obituary

 Barbara Jean Fey, the daughter of Rudy and Roma (Detlefs) Chisholm, was born on July 20th, 1952, in Battle Creek, Iowa. Following graduation, she attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg, IA and received a degree in nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City, IA and retired after 40 years of service at Cherokee Mental Health Institute in Cherokee, IA.

 On February 8th, 1975, Barbara married Gaylin Fey and lived in Cherokee, IA until their retirement in 2015. They moved to Chaska, MN to be near their daughters and relocated to Spencer, IA in 2023.

 Barbara passed away on Thursday, February 6th, 2025, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 72. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law, Wayne and Lorraine Fey, one brother, Roger, and 3 beloved dogs Sammy, Lucy, and Peggy Sue.

 Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gaylin of Spencer, IA; her daughter, Cindy (Brent) Heller and one granddaughter, Adalyn of Chaska, MN and her daughter, Holly Fey of Hawaii; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Susan Grieme of Schaller, IA; other relatives and friends.
