Joseph Steven Slade, son of Scott and Mary Slade, was born on October 31, 1984, in Rock Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Central Lyon High School. From there he worked, moved, and lived a fast and fun life. Joe learned the art of tattooing at an institute in Miami, Florida. He enjoyed skateboarding, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling and canoeing in his younger days. He then took up riding his way through the beautiful mountains of Arkansas on either his Harley or his ATV. Joe loved going to the gym and was happiest there working out with his buddy Mike “Lotty” Lotman. He had a passion for sports, especially UFC and MMA fights. His truest love was for his little girl Emma.
Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents Steve and Rita Cain and Jim and Lorraine Slade. Also preceding Joe in death are his best friends Cliffy and Lotty.
Left behind to miss him dearly are his daughter Emma Slade, parents Scott and Mary Slade, brother Luke Slade and his wife Brittany, nieces Lily Slade and Braylyn Childress, nephews Jack Slade, Kavian Childress, and Calvin Childress, and so many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
In honor of Joe’s memory, and to help those in need, please, if you see someone hungry or cold, give them not money, but a warm bowl of soup and a coat.
