Marty is survived by her devoted husband, Dr. Charles Green; children Shari (Todd) Anderson, Doug (Hilla) Green and Jennifer (Maurice York) Green; sister Janice (Larry) Brazda; grandchildren Jacob and Peter Anderson and Iris and Arman Green. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Ray Skelton, as well as her siblings Don Skelton, Jean Peterson, and Dale Skelton. Born in Spencer, Iowa, Marty spent her early years in Northern Iowa and Southern Minnesota, graduating from high school in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Marty's passion for learning and helping others led her to the prestigious St. Mary's Nursing School and Mayo Clinic, where she had the privilege of studying under the original complement of founding sisters. This marked the beginning of an exemplary nursing career that spanned decades. In 1964, she married Ken Bruning and the couple made their home in Waterloo Iowa. Marty continued to pursue her love of knowledge, taking classes at the University of Northern Iowa, all while volunteering at neighborhood schools and her church. Her kitchen became known for her warm chocolate chip cookies she always had ready. In 1994, Marty relocated to Kalispell, Montana, where she continued her nursing career. She worked as a nurse and manager at Heritage Place and later returned to her passion for surgical nursing at Flathead Outpatient Surgery Center where she was able to use her skills as a certified registered nurse in ophthalmology. Upon retirement, Marty enjoyed spending time in both Kalispell and Cabo San Lucas. Marty's legacy will live on in the hearts of all those who knew her. Her skill, compassion and dedication as a nurse, mother, and grandmother will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Marty will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
