Carol Sue Dille

Carol Sue Dille, 86, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025.

She was born in Liberty Center, Ohio, on Aug. 15, 1938, to the late Clement and Louise (Rabe) Hoffman. On Oct. 17, 1959, Carol married Charles "Dick" Dille at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon.

Carol was a lifetime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing in the Napoleon Community Band and volunteering to play the piano at the Lutheran Home.

Carol served on the Women's Guild at the Filling Home, where she assisted with the Fall Fling for 25 years. She enjoyed family trips to Florida and camping trips. Carol especially enjoyed lunch dates with her class of 1956 group and members of the community band.

Carol is survived by her children, C.Patrick (Jody) Dille, Caren Dille, Craig (Lisa) Dille, Candise (Bart) Ankney, and Caye (Pete) Schroeder; grandchildren, Michelle (Gordon), C. Matthew (Lisa), Cecilia, Trey (Katie), Keegan and Charlie; four great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; siblings, Linda Gamblin, Nancy (Steve) York and Steven (Bonnie) Hoffman; and sister-in-law, Judy Hoffman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 35 years, Charles; brother, Douglas Hoffman; and brother-in-law, Carl Gamblin.

Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, from 2-6 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon, on Friday, Feb. 14, 2025, at 11 a.m., with an hour of visitation prior to services. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Napoleon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Filling Home of Mercy or CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice.
