Donald John Lammers, 93, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2024, at The Meadows of Leipsic.
He was born in Ecorse, Michigan, on April 2, 1931, to the late Albert and Edna (Ricker) Lammers. Donald married Anna Miller Wachtman on April 30, 1982, at St. Nicholas Church, Miller City, Ohio.
Don was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Napoleon, where he was also a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Don served Miller City as the Mayor, served on the City Council and on the local fire department.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a life member of the AMVETS, American Legion and V.F.W. Don retired from Campbell Soup Supply Co. in 1989.
He is survived by his children, Michael (Diane) Lammers, Beth Ann (Dan) Huddle, Nick (Gayle) Lammers, Connie (Todd) Fiore; son-in-law, Jerry Niese; stepchildren, Lee (Joellen) Wachtman, Debra (Gary) Fausey, Jane (Lee) Genter and Jim (Bobbi) Wachtman; 26 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ralph Miller; and sister-in-law, Janette Lammers.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Anna; son David Lammers; daughter, Bonnie Niese; and siblings, Sr. Marlene "Lucille" Lammers, Dorothy Miller, Melvin Lammers, Francis Lammers, Ralph Lammers, Virgil Lammers, Paul Lammers and Richard Lammers.
Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gary Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, from 4-7 p.m., with a Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Napoleon. Interment with Military Honors accorded by the Napoleon American Legion Post #300 will be held at Grelton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Putnam County Home Health and Hospice or a charity of your choice.
