Jane Pauline Eis, 88, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
She was born in New Bavaria, Ohio, on Sept. 18, 1936, to the late Milton and Hazel (Thomas) Cummins.
On Sept. 8, 1956, Jane married Marvin Eis at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Holgate, Ohio. They shared 19 years together and had three children.
Jane was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Napoleon. She was a cheerleader for all four years at Holgate High School with her twin, Joan.
Jane wintered in Florida with her partner, Bill Meier, and loved to travel, especially to spend time in the national parks. She loved family get-togethers and going to her grandchildren's activities and sporting events. Jane liked to also take the grandchildren camping.
In her leisure time, you could find her sewing or knitting.
Jane is survived by her children, Peg (Tim) McDonald, Marty Eis and Marc (Jennifer) Eis; grandchildren, Scott (Beth) Smiddy, Casey McDonald, John Eis, and Clara Jane Eis; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Landen, Sadie Jane; siblings, Georgene Cummins, Joan Paxton and Diana Hunter; and sister-in-law, Kathy Cummins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; partner, Bill Meier; brother, Ben Cummins; and brothers-in-law, Ted Paxton and Rease Hunter.
Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 4-8 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine Catholic Church on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
