Lorraine (Winkie) Irene Howe, age 90, passed away of natural causes and Alzheimer's disease on Sept. 2, 2025, at Willow Care Cottages in Manvel, Texas.

She married William Wink in 1953 and had her first son in 1954. They divorced in 1956. She married Richard (Bones) Howe on Aug. 2, 1958. Their marriage lasted 53 years, until she was widowed in 2011. They had three additional children.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was an avid baker and homemaker. She was known for her pies, cookies and coffee cake, as well as canning her own pickles, tomatoes and applesauce. She enjoyed crochet, making elaborate lace doilies, curtains, and table cloths, counted cross stitch, creating beautiful large wall hangings, as well as quilting and knitting. She loved collecting angels and figurines.
She had an exuberant, infectious laugh which brought joy to all who were around her. She loved the church and she loved children, teaching catechism for years. She cared for her neighbors and friends in their later years, cooking and caring for them in their times of need, and spending time with them at the nursing home. She often brought communion to those who could not attend mass.
Lorraine is survived by her four children and their spouses, William (Bill) and Alice Wink, Penelope (Penny) Mangas, Richard (Ric) and Tammy Howe, John Howe and his wife, Patricia Campbell; her six grandchildren, Jenny Diehl, Nathan Wink, Ryan Belding, Jaime McCourt, Paige Bronson and Austin Howe; and her four great grandchildren, Caius and Julian McCourt, Blair and Brooke Bronson.
