Marvin Fredrick Badenhop, 98, of Delta, Ohio, passed away at Fulton Manor on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025.
He was born at home in Fulton County, Ohio, on Jan. 4, 1927, to the late William and Sophia (Glanz) Badenhop. On April 9, 1950, Marvin married Marcella Damman at St. John's Lutheran Church, Freedom Township.
Marvin was a lifelong farmer. He was a lifetime member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wauseon, where he served in his favorite position as a Trustee, held several church offices, Lutheran Layman's League and enjoyed playing dartball.
Marvin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Napoleon V.F.W., and the Ridgeville American Legion Post #454
He is survived by his children, Patricia (Alan) Rice, Keith (Sheila) Badenhop, Ken (Carol) Badenhop, Mary (John) Beck, Robert (Margie) Badenhop, Richard (Alesa) Badenhop, Peg Badenhop and Brenda (Chris) Ohlinger; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Marcella; son, Eugene; granddaughter, Karla; grandson-in-law, Josh Gentry; great-granddaughter, Anna; and siblings, Augusta Badenhop, Louise (William) Gerken, Esther (Martin) Elling, Herbert (Lydia) Badenhop and Marie (Victor) Damman.
Friends and family will be received at the Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home, Napoleon, on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Church on Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, at 11 a.m., with an hour of visitation prior to services. Interment will follow at the church cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Ridgeville American Legion Post #454.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church or Fulton Manor Nursing & Rehab.
