Beatrice Elaine Poirier March 20, 1931 - December 10, 2011 Lisbon - Beatrice Elaine Poirier, 80, of Lisbon died on Saturday December 10, 2011 at the Wm. W. Backus Hospital. She was born March 20, 1931, in Norwich, to the late Andrew and Beatrice (LePage) Tenczar. Elaine worked her entire life within several area mills before retiring in 1962 from the C&M Corporation in Wauregan. She was devoted to her family, whom she loved dearly, and was an accomplished seamstress who made clothes for her family including a family wedding gown. She loved knitting and crafts and made high end crafts that were sold at area fairs. She is survived by her long time companion Ferris Haddad of Lisbon; daughters Corinne Poirier of Lisbon, Charlene Asselin and husband Roland of FL; son Scott Poirier and wife Judy of Mystic; brother Bruce Tenczar of East Lyme; grandchildren Tara Dickert, Nicholas Poirier, Kimberly Asselin, and Jenni Poirier; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Beatrice is predeceased by her brother Andrew Tenczar Jr and sister Caroyln Krupinski. There will be a graveside service at the St. Mary Cemetery on Lillipond Road in Griswold on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Gagne-Piechowski Funeral Home 490 Voluntown Rd Jewett City, CT.
