Dennis Main Obituary

DENNIS MAIN 1970 - 2017
AUGUSTA, ME - Dennis Richard Main, 47, of Augusta, Maine has taken his vocal talents to heaven. He joined his mother, Bonita Vars Giese, sister Bethany Irene Main, and grandparents, Art, Irene Vars and Richard Main on March 20, 2017. A Norwich, CT native, Dennis attended Norwich Free Academy, and later Seymour High School, and finished second in his class at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in Stratford.
Best known as "Mr. Main Event" by independent wrestling fans across New England, Dennis was a ring announcer, TV commentator and host of the popular podcast, Turnbuckle Truth. The show featured his interviews with dozens of wrestling stars. Dennis fought briefly himself, and trained with wrestling legend and actor, Ox Baker (Escape From New York).
Dennis loved the Lord and his family and was kind hearted, helping anyone he could. He and his clever sense of humor will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Dennis is survived by his father, Kenneth Richard Main, his Grandmother, Shirley Main, his children Damion Main, William Trombley and Tylar Gidman, and by his siblings, Sherri Rupe, Hannah Hurst, Ruthie Hvarre, and Kenneth Paul Hvarre. A private graveside service for family and close friends will take place Thursday, March 30th. Dennis will be laid to rest at Maplewood Cemetery alongside his beloved mother and sister.
The family wishes to thank Church & Allen Funeral Services in Norwich for their loving care.

Hadn't seen Dennis since I walked away from wrestling quite a while back. Such a nice guy, very happy, very friendly - like a big ole teddy bear. Rest easy friend.

To me, Dennis was a great person to be around. I knew him through Pro Wrestling. He was a funny guy. Had alot of fun times with him. I liked his voice for announcing and commentary. Very skilled persona. He will be missed, but his funny personality will always be remembered.
