Ernest Bartholemew Dupont Jr. Dec 12, 1931 - August 1, 2015 Voluntown - Ernest B. Dupont Jr., 83, a long time resident of Voluntown, passed away Saturday evening at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Dec. 12, 1931 a son to the late Flossie (Bibeault) and Ernest B. Dupont Sr. in Voluntown. He married Geraldine (Tetreault) Dupont on June 16, 1956. She survives him. Ernest honorably served his country within the United States Army as a Sergeant First Class serving during the Korean War. He retired after 30 years of service at Electric Boat working as a fork lift operator, EMT and tractor trailer driver. He was a loving and kind hearted man who adored his family. He loved fishing and was a talented musician. He also sang within the Griswold Community Chorus. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Ernest B. Dupont III, Adam Dupont; daughters Kathryn Dupont, Kelly McClellan and husband Ed, Karen Dupont Porter; brothers Neil Dupont Sr., Richard Dupont Sr.; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grand children. He was predeceased by his son Jeffrey Dupont and sister Joy Dupont. A funeral service will be held at the Preston City Congregational Church 321 Route 164 Preston, CT on Saturday Aug. 15th at 11:00 AM with a presentation of military honors.
