Ernest Poirier Obituary

Ernest F. Poirier November 3, 1929 - August 1, 2010 Uncasville - Ernest F. Poirier, 80, of Milefski Dr., Uncasville, died Sunday evening at the Backus Hospital. Born in Norwich on November 3, 1929, he was the son of the late Edward and Viola (Hall) Poirier. Prior to his retirement he was employed at United Nuclear as a janitor. Surviving is a son Scott Poirier and his wife Judy of Mystic, two daughters Charlene Asselin and her husband Roland of Port St. Lucie, FL and Corinne Poirier of Lisbon; a brother Robert P. Poirier of Norwich, a sister Emma Elizabeth Doolittle of Preston, four grandchildren Tara Dickert, Kimberly Asselin, Nicholas Poirier, and Jenni Poirier, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Edward C. Poirier and two sisters Alma Cirrito and Rose Olenkiewicz. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Cemetery, 815 Boswell Ave., Norwich. Arrangements are by the Labenski Funeral Home.
