Evelyn L. Matte January 15, 1911 - June 25, 2008 WHITINSVILLE, MA - Evelyn L. Matte, 97, of Colonial Drive died Wednesday. June 25, 2008 at the Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI. Born in the Linwood section of Northbridge, MA on January 15, 1911, she was the daughter of Henry and Agnes (Rascoe) Matte and has lived in Northbridge, MA most of her life. She graduated from the Good Shepherd School in 1925. She worked for several years as a bookeeper at the Draper Corporation. in the Engineering Dept., 9 years at Ethier Oil in Linwood and 28 years at the Waucantuk Mill in the Dressing Department. She is survived by one sister Alice Matte Baldwin of Taftville, CT along with several loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers Theodore, Alfred, and Edward Matte; and seven sisters Beatrice Matte, Florence Morvan, Yvonne St.Amant, Cora Mucciarone, Ida Giguere, Emma Farrar and Pearl Grenon. She was a member of Saint Patrick's Church in Whitinsville, MA a former member at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Linwood, and was a member of the Northbridge Senior Citizen Travel Club. Her funeral will assemble at 8:30 A.M. for a calling hour on Friday, July 11th, at the Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Road, Uxbridge, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Patrick's Church, Cross Street, Whitinsville, MA. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick's Cemetery also in MA.
