Jeffrey Owens Obituary
NORWICH – Jeffrey R. Owens 74, of Norwich and formerly of Baltic died late Sunday afternoon at the Norwichtown Rehab & Care Center. He was born in Westerly, R.I. on May 1, 1943 the son of the late Harry and Edith (Robinson) Owens. Jeffrey was last employed as a Visual Information Specialist for the U.S. Navy for 30 years before retiring. He is survived by one son: Peter M. Owens of Colchester, one daughter: Suzanne Heg of Baltic, one brother: Robin Owens of Norwich, three grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
There are no funeral services or calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ninigret Part, Route 1A, Charlestown, R.I. 02813. Guillot Funeral Home of Taftville is in charge of arrangements.

I remember Jeff as a phenomenal artist at NUSC in New London, CT. He was so quick in his ability to generate a drawing or cartoon that encapsulated the moment. He is sorely missed in this all too serious day and age.

I'm so sorry to see this announcement. I had not seen Jeff since I was a small child until he came to my parents' funerals. It was good to connect again, however briefly. Our means of communicating since then had not worked, and now I see why. He will be missed by many I'm sure, including this "long-lost" cousin.

I worked for Jeff Owens from 1994 until he retired. He was a great friend and the best boss I ever had. Jeff had a way of putting people at ease and was one of the most entertaining individuals I have ever met. Most of the time it was like working in a sitcom because of the many laughs we shared. He will be sorely missed, and I extend my condolences to his family, but I know that wherever Jeff is, he is still making people laugh.
